Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends

It has been a difficult and challenging week for everyone and we are truly humbled by the support of our kind and vibrant community.  James was a wonderful teacher – the tributes are incredible and we will all miss him dearly.

James’ network extended way beyond our school gates and an example of this is renowned historian Dan Snow, who is dedicating his live YouTube history show ‘History Hit Live’ to James this Friday at 4pm.  Here is a link to the episode that will be going live: youtu.be/Sg-jFXv4cMo

A special thanks to Father Richard for opening up St Pauls – on Monday 1100 visitors lit candles and sat quietly to reflect in their sorrow but also to remember the lovely character of James.

James’s parents called on Monday afternoon and they wanted us to pass on their deepest gratitude for all the beautiful tributes to James made by our students and staff.

Our ‘remote’ end of term assembly will be in memory of James and led by our student leadership team. Additionally, Mr Adams and Mrs Smith are setting up a working party to plan further memorials that we can put in place for James from September.

A number of parents have asked if they can donate to a ‘gofundme’ page to raise money to honour James. #LoveUnites #ReadingPride #ForburyGardens #RDGUK are raising money for a memorial for James and the other two victims. Here is the link  https://gf.me/u/yacyii
