About Holt School
The Holt is an 11-18 comprehensive girls’ school which became a converter academy in 2011. The school was founded in 1931 and still occupies the same site even though the school population has increased from 23 to its current role of 1280.
At the heart of the school is the “old building” part of which dates back to 1684 and was owned by the Heelas family.
The school maintains a number of traditions and extols traditional values whilst at the same time embracing change. As well as the broad and balanced formal curriculum, students at The Holt enjoy a rich and varied extra-curricular programme.
